History Panel

Overview

The History Panel in EPV is a reference feature that allows users to track markups created by themselves or other users who have shared access to the document. This guide outlines how to enable the History Panel, view and manage markup records, and utilize various features. The History Panel is a powerful tool for tracking, sorting, and managing markups. By following this guide, users can confidently utilize the History Panel in EPV to improve their document review and collaboration process.

1. Markup Data Points

Each markup recorded in the History Panel includes the following details:

  • User First and Last Name (e.g., Victoria Fomin)

  • Date and Time (e.g., Dec 11, 12:21 PM)

  • Respective Markup Icon

  • Respective Markup Context (if applicable)

2. Markup Icon Color Rendering

  • When placing a markup, the markup icon color in the History Panel reflects the color of the markup in the markup panel.

  • If a markup color is updated retrospectively (e.g., changing from blue to yellow), the updated color is reflected in the History Panel in real time.

3. Sort Options

Users can sort the History Panel using the following options:

  • Page Position

  • Author (Alphabetically)

  • Created Date (Oldest to Newest)

  • Modified Date (Newest to Oldest)

  • Discipline (Alphabetically)

  • Color (Based on color palette order)

  • Type (Grouped as Annotate, Shapes, Calculate, Fill & Sign)

4. Enabling the History Panel

To enable the History Panel:

  • Click the History Panel icon at the top-right corner.

  • The History Panel will appear on the right-hand side.

  • Click the “X” icon at the top-right corner to close the panel.

5. Editing & Deleting Markups

Users can edit or delete their own markups in the History Panel:

  • Click the 3-dot radio button next to a markup.

  • Select ‘Edit’ or ‘Delete’ from the dropdown.

6. Auto-Enablement for Comments

If a user places a 'Comment' markup from the Annotate Bucket, the History Panel will automatically open to ensure visibility of the newly created markup.

7. Scrolling in the History Panel

Users can scroll up and down in the History Panel to view all listed markups in real time.
