FAQ: Session Management
What is EPV Session Management?
EPV session management is a security feature that automatically logs out inactive users after 58 minutes of inactivity. This ensures data protection and SOC2 compliance.
How does EPV detect inactivity?
Inactivity is defined as no mouse movement or shortcut usage for 58 minutes. After this period, a prompt will appear asking if you want to extend your session.
What happens when the session prompt appears?
A 2-minute countdown timer will start. Users can choose to extend the session or log out.
What happens if I don’t respond to the session prompt?
If you do not respond within the 2-minute timer, you will be securely logged out, and your data will be autosaved.
How do I extend my session?
Simply click 'Yes' on the prompt to extend your session. This will reset the idle timer to 58 minutes starting from the time you click 'Yes'.
What if I select 'No' to extending my session?
Selecting 'No' will log you out securely and your unsaved progress will be autosaved.
What happens if autosave fails?
If autosave fails, the system will retry up to 10 times to ensure your data is saved before logging you out.
Do I need to re-enter my password when extending a session?
If you’ve been idle for over 1 hour, you will be required to re-enter your password or complete MFA when extending your session.
Can I disable the session prompt?
Yes. Users can select the 'Don't Show Again' option in the session prompt to disable future inactivity prompts.
